Canupa Ta Wocekiye
“Universal Prayer of Land and Atmosphere”
This prayer was Spirit given to Horn Chips in 1871 for the people to use.
It covers the land and the animals. We pray to the animal spirits because they are always pure.

Father, Great Spirit, I will not say anything above You, nor will I say anything equal to You.
But within the space of the clouds, You have made those animals who swing their wings.
And then You have made animals to live upon the earth. You have made animals to live within the Earth. You have made animals who will live in the waters and You have made those animals who will live in the bottom of the waters. These You have made for us to pray to.
And then upon the Earth, the many different kinds of trees, the many different kinds of fruit trees, the many different kinds of plants, the many different kinds of roots and the many different kinds of grasses You have made.
These common men and animals live upon the Earth that You have pulled together. You have made these things so they would be good for us. Grandfather, as I stand here, I remember these things.
